Powder Post Beetles

Powder post beetles are tiny black beetles which enter timber and produce their young.  The young spend most of their life as a grub or larvae (as long as 10 years) inside the piece of timber destroying it.

Evidence of their presence can be seen as a fine dust, but the actual

beetle is seldom seen.

Timber is always best protected if treatment is carried out prior to varnishing/painting.
